Dr.T.Rajamohan

      Dr. T. Rajamohan was born at Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. He obtained his Masters Degree in Biochemistry from the Department of Biochemistry, University of Kerala in 1982 and joined for research under the guidance of Dr.P.A.Kurup and received PhD in 1990. In the meantime, he joined as Lecturer in Biochemistry, University of Kerala in 1983, and promoted as Reader in 1992, and as Professor from 1999 onwards. He worked as Professor and Head of the Department of Biochemistry during March 2009 to March 2012 and retired from University service in March 2013. As a researcher, he had significantly contributed to the studies on coconut and its products in health and disease for the last 24 years. During this period, he has supervised 17 Ph.D thesis based on the health aspects of coconut and its products. As an outcome of the work, he could publish 50 research papers in National and International Journals. He had participated as resource speaker in the 34th meeting of Asia and Pacific Coconut Community held at Philippines in 1997 and also presented papers in several National and International seminars. Several seminars and exhibitions on coconut and its products were organized by him. The research work carried out by him culminated in a National Award for Best Research Worker in 2010 instituted by Coconut Development Board, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, Kochi. After retirement, he continued his research on the health aspects of coconut and its products. To fulfill his dreams, he has taken initiative to establish a Coconut Research and Development Centre and continuing his research for the betterment of coconut community. .
